Citi PremierPass® Elite Level Credit Card Consumer Review

The Citi PremierPass® Elite Level card, issued by Citibank, is designed for those with excellent credit who are looking for a reward card that is compatible with any airline. Through the reward program, cardholders earn two points for every dollar spent on purchases made at supermarkets, drugstores, gas stations, and commuter transportation and parking merchants. One point is earned for all other general purchases and for every one mile the cardholder flies on any airline - or anyone else whose ticket is bought with the card. Cardholders will also receive 20,000 bonus points after $600 in purchases is made within three months of account opening. Points can be redeemed for flights on any airline with no blackout dates, discounts on hotel stays, retail gift cards, electronics, and statement credits through the ThankYou(SM) Network. The maximum number of points that can be earned per year is 200,000, and points will expire in three years if the account has not been active during that time. Although this card has a slightly high annual fee of $75, it does offer a reasonable variable interest rate for purchases and balance transfers. There is a minimum cap for cash advances; so no matter how low the Prime Rate falls (the APR is tied to the Prime Rate), the variable interest rate will not go below the minimum cap. Aside from the reward program, cardholders can expect access to a variety of benefits that include auto rental insurance and various travel and emergency assistance services. This card also offers cardholders unlimited companion travel. Therefore, those who will be able to take advantage of the reward program and the additional services will benefit most from what the Citi PremierPass® Elite Level card has to offer.
