01.04.08 | Some great credit card options for recent grads

Posted in Credit Card Info by Platinum Stud

Say you snagged a student credit card during your college career. It was great to have in a pinch and it was probably used more often than necessary. Now that you’ve graduated, you’ve employed, paying rent, and handling the beginning of “real life”. Everything’s going well - except for the credit card you’ve STILL got from college. The balance isn’t pretty and neither is the interest rate. So what can you do?

Well, you can do things like consolidate student loan payments to keep more cash in your pocket. But a better bet would be to try and find a lower interest rate for your credit card’s balance. Here are three examples of cards we offer that have this nice feature but don’t require very high credit scores:

  • Pulaski Bank Gold Visa Card - This one starts off at a 0% APR for 6 months and then it rises to 8%. Not bad at all. There aren’t any frequent flyer miles or cash back rewards, but you’re getting this card for the low rates.
  • Pulaski Bank Visa/Mastercard - This more or less the same card, except the APR is a bit lower at 6.5%. The catch? A $35 annual fee.
  • Capital One Platinum - Here’s a card that offers a bit of both the Pulaski cards. It has a low rate (8.4%) and a $39 annual fee. The benefit of this card is that it does offer a rewards program.

If you’ve got a card with a balance and higher than the aforementioned interest rates, then please get going with your credit card applications for any of the above. Platinum Stud’s orders!
